About Me

I graduated from Lincoln University in 2009 with a BA (Hons) Animation, Upper Second Class degree (2:1). I have a good working knowledge of animating using Maya and limited knowledge of other procedures including modelling, texturing and rigging. I have used Photoshop regularly over the past five years and have frequently used AfterEffects and Premier for my animations both throughout university and since.

Television commercials and children’s programmes are my two main sources of inspiration and my work is greatly influenced by them. I am able to animate in a range of styles from realistic to cartoon and I have become practised in adapting to meet requirements. I have a working knowledge of human anatomy which has been developed through life drawing and theory work. In addition to studying life drawing for two years as part of my university course, I have also done part time courses in Life Drawing and Ceramics and Sculpture. College courses in art and photography, along with my university studies, have given me a broad understanding of composition, colour, cinematography, modelling, lighting and texturing.

I have had some previous industry experience in a computer games studio where I produced looping animation cycles for the studios current game and customised the rigging and skinning of the characters. I also modelled, rigged and animated a low poly character for use in the demo version of the game. Additionally, I have animated a short character piece for a website in an animation studio.
